Call for Speakers - Emergency Care Conference 2020
Conference Date: March 17, 18, & 19th, 2021
The call for speakers for the NJ Emergency Care Conference 2021 is now open!
We are accepting submissions for 30 & 60 minute program presentations, as well as submissions for half and full day sessions. All full day sessions and half day sessions will take place during the pre-session on March 17th, 2021. Consideration will be given to those speakers who were scheduled for the ECC 2020. All speakers must submit through the link listed below to be considered for review. Acceptance at ECC 2020 is not a guarantee of acceptance at ECC 2021.
Speakers are encouraged to submit multiple presentations for consideration. Multiple speakers are discouraged, we are limiting 30-minutes proposals to one speaker and 60-minute proposals to two speakers. New speakers are encouraged to apply; mentoring is available. Deadline for submissions is August 31st, 2021.
Presenters will be notified of submission status in early October.
Due to the impact of the pandemic and world events, proposals are encouraged on the following topics: COVID-19, surge capacity, nursing leadership in disasters, critical care patients in the ED, telehealth, mental health issues, resiliency and wellness, health equity, social determinants of health, and implicit bias.
Additional suggested topics based on past evaluations include:
Advanced Practice Nurse – advanced interpretation of radiography results, pharmacology, advanced clinical topics, “hands on” skills, procedures in Free Standing ED’s or Fast Track
Clinical –ESI triage, forensics, sepsis, abuse, geriatrics, STEMI, stroke
Psychiatric related topics: suicide assessment & prevention, psychiatric emergencies
Trauma - resuscitation of peds & adult trauma patients, management of multiple system trauma, orthopedic, spine and facial trauma, low volume/high acuity procedures
Pediatrics/Obstetrics – peds resuscitation, peds oncology, care of special needs children, perinatal loss,
Leadership/Management/Education - management and leadership skills, staff engagement, dealing with difficult patients and families, patient and staff satisfaction, ED patient flow
Other – human trafficking, vaccine update for nurses, communication, transport nurse topics
